These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Vertical app. By downloading, accessing, or using Vertical, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Vertical. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

The Service

Vertical provides personalized Bible reading plans, a Scripture reader, journaling tools, and AI-powered features including BibleChat. Some features require an active subscription.

Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.

Subscriptions

Vertical offers auto-renewable subscriptions. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID Account Settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Subscription prices may change. If prices change, we will provide notice as required by the App Store, and changes will apply to subsequent billing periods.

Refunds

Purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple under its policies and can be submitted at reportaproblem.apple.com. We are unable to issue refunds directly.

AI Content Disclaimer

BibleChat and other AI features generate responses automatically and may contain errors or omissions. AI responses are provided for educational and devotional purposes only and are not a substitute for Scripture itself, professional, medical, legal, or pastoral advice. Always verify what you read against the Bible and consult a qualified pastor or professional where appropriate. You can report any AI response you find inappropriate using the in-app report option.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the app, attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer it, use it for unlawful purposes, or submit content that is abusive, harmful, or violates the rights of others. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.

Intellectual Property

The app, its design, and its original content are owned by us and protected by applicable laws. Bible text is provided by third-party translation sources and remains subject to the rights of their respective publishers.

Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
